The NC State Board of Elections

The State Board of Elections is the state agency charged with overall responsibility for administration of the elections process and campaign finance disclosure in North Carolina. It is the only statutory bi-partisan, quasi-judicial supervisory board in North Carolina State government. The Governor of North Carolina appoints the five members of the Board. The agency's mission is to promote consistent administration and equal application of all elections and campaign finance laws, rules, and regulations.

The State Board of Elections is supported by a 30-member professional staff overseeing day-to-day operations of the State Board office in Raleigh (administration and campaign reporting).
